Tour Details

Sacred Valley Connection to Machu Picchu is the best option to see both the Sacred Valley of Incas and Machu Picchu in one go.

This is a two days experience from Cusco. On the first day you will have a full day Sacred Valley Tour. The valley is home to many beautiful Andean villages where locals have preserved their age-old traditions and customs.

Sacred Valley also houses many ancient Inca farming terraces and archeological ruins. You will be familiarised with the Incan civilization on a guided tour with our local expert.

The trip begins with a drive to Pisac. It is home to a massive archaeological complex. Infact, the complex is just second to Machu Picchu.

To make your Sacred Valley Connection to Machu Picchu more authentic, we will be treating you to an authentic Peruvian buffet lunch at a local restaurant in Urubamba.

We will then visit the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo before boarding the train to Aguas Calientes Machu Picchu.

The second day of the Sacred Valley Connection to Machu Picchu tour takes you to the Inca citadel. Here you will discover many lesser known facts with our local expert.

Itinerary

Cusco - Sacred Valley - Aguas Calientes

We will be picking you up at 0830 in the morning from your hotel in Cusco. Then in our private transport, we will be driving you to Pisac.

Pisac

It is a beautiful village, home to an archaeological complex and local market.

We will be driving you up to the main entrance of the Inca ruins. Here our local expert will give you a detailed tour of the complex. You will be visiting the farming terraces, ruins of temples, ceremonial sites among others. On this tour you will discover how each site in the complex played a significant role during Inca civilisation.

After the tour, we will have a brief stop by the main square. It bustles with local craftsmen and farmers on weekends.

Pisac weekend market is something you must visit while in Cusco. However, there are small stalls that are open every day. Here you will find an excellent deal on souvenirs.

Urubamba

Then we will drive you to Urubamba. Due to its centric location it is often referred as the heart of Sacred Valley. Here we will be stopping for buffet lunch at our exclusive local restaurant.

To make your Sacred Valley connection to Machu Picchu experience more authentic we offer exclusive Peruvian meals for lunch. Our menu includes food for vegans too.

Ollantaytambo

Our last stop in the Sacred Valley will be at Ollantaytambo. Here we will give you a tour of the archaeological site that sits on top of a hill overlooking the valley. Ollantaytambo is a beautiful village that depicts the advancement of Incan engineering.

The village is sandwiched between two archaeological sites. It is home to some of the beautiful stone work in the Sacred Valley. Most of these stones were transported from the nearby quarry in Cachicata. Our local expert will give you a detailed tour here.

Then you will be boarding a train to Aguas Calientes Machu Picchu. It’s a scenic ride along the Urubamba river. Our representative will be meeting you at the train station and will be transferring you to the hotel.

Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

We begin the second day of the Sacred Valley Connection to Machu Picchu quite early. At day break, our representative will be handing you over a snack box. Then you will be taking a bus up to the Inca citadel.

We normally enter the citadel in the first group so that you will be able to witness the sunrise. Our local expert will then give you a complete two hours guided tour of Machu Picchu. On this tour, you will be visiting the remains of Inca temples, royal quarters, farming terraces, ceremonial sites and more.

After the tour, you will have some free time to walk around the citadel. If you have booked your climb to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain our local expert will be directing you to the entrance.

Alternatively you can walk to the Sun Gate. It requires no booking and is free to visit. It offers a captivating view of Machu Picchu. This will be a two hours hike to and from the citadel.

After the full day tour, you will be taking a bus to Aguas Calientes. Here you will have some free time to have lunch, if desired. Then you will be taking the train back to Ollantaytambo. Our representative will be meeting you at the train station and will transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco.

An excellent option to see both Sacred Valley Of Incas and Machu Picchu in one go! This tour indeed cover all the attractions and was very informative. Machu Picchu peru Cusco organised this tour very nicely and all logistics were well taken care of. Karen the owner met us the night before the tour and explained a lot about the itinerary and on what to expect and carry which helped us a lot. We are very happy with the whole organisation and will surely recommend this tour company.

On this trip I visited both Sacred Valley of Incas and Machu Picchu. I must admit that this was far beyond my expectations. Karen from Machu Picchu Peru Tours was very attentive and helpful. The night before the tour I visited her office near the main square of Cusco and she explained on what to carry and what to expect. It was at the last hour I requested for Vegeterian meal and she did organise it as well.

On the day of the tour, the pickup was on time and the vehicle was super comfortable. We stopped at the town of Pisac where we visited the archealogical sitre and the traditional market. We then stopped at a town called Urubamba for lunch where they served us exotic Peruvian meal. After Urubamba we went to Ollantaytambo town, the town itself is charming with a lot of things to see. We boarded the train to Aguas Calientes town from there. Upon arriving there, a representative of their company picked me us and transferred me to the hotel in town. The hotel was stunning overlooking a lake. At night a local guide visited me and offered a briefing and handed me over the tickets. The next morning as advised by the guide, I took a bus to the citadel and met the guide at the main entrance. I was then pooled with a group of 8 other travellers and the guide gave us a very interesting tour of Machu Picchu and the history of the site.

After the guided tour he gave us some free time too.

The whole experience was very interesting one and i thank Karen frm the bottom of my heart.
