In the 19th century, Bolivia planned to introduce a railway system to facilitate the trade. However, due to limitations in resources, they were unable to finish the project. They left these locomotives abandoned near Uyuni Salt Flats.

We will then drive you to Colchani. This village is home to the country’s Salt processing unit. Here our local guide will give you a detailed tour and will demonstrate the traditional salt processing method.

01:00 PMUyuni Salt Flats - Dakar Monument - Playa Blanca Hotel

The highlight of the trip begins here as we will begin to cruise on the world’s largest Salt Flats.  We will be driving towards hotel Playa Blanca.

It is the first ever salt hotel built. Due to environmental concerns they shut the operations. It now serves as a museum.

The hotel is right next to the emblematic flag monument and Dakar Monument. So while you are clicking photos with flags, our crew will set up lunch inside the Playa Blanca Salt Hotel.

02:30 PMUyuni Salt Flats - Cactus Island - Uyuni Town

After relishing on a typical meal, we will continue the tour to the centre of the Uyuni Salt Flats. Here we will be stopping so you can get the perfect perspective photos amidst the salt flats. Our tour guides have experience and skills to get the best click.

We will continue the tour to Isla Incahuasi which marks the centre of the Salt Flats. The island is home to many cactuses. Here you will have some time to walk around and explore the beauty of the island. From the top of the island, you will be able to see the enormity of the Salt flats.

We will then start our return journey to Uyuni. On our way back, we will stop to see the sunset.  We will be reaching Uyuni at around 0630 PM.
